Marketing Specialist
Milwaukee, WI (Hybrid)
NEWaukee is a brand engagement agency that helps businesses and organizations find innovative ways to engage their audiences. Our clients range from local favorites to nationally recognized brands, and we’re known for bringing high energy, fresh ideas, and real results to everything we touch.
We’re looking for a Marketing Specialist — someone who can think strategically, execute flawlessly, and adapt quickly. This role will report directly to our VP of Marketing and will manage client campaigns, agency marketing efforts, and everything in between.
What You’ll Do
Campaign Management
Create and manage paid media campaigns (Google Ads, Meta Ads) for NEWaukee and its clients.
Develop strategy decks, gather campaign metrics, distill insights into key takeaways, and report campaign results clearly to clients.
Communicate with external vendors to traffic campaign assets.
Work closely with our in-house graphic designer and other team members for campaign assets needed, providing clear instructions.
Build, write, and execute customer engagement campaigns (SMS, email) using platforms like Braze, Salesforce, Hubspot, Klaviyo or ActiveCampaign.
Track project hours and budgets.
Media + Public Relations
Build and manage relationships with media vendors and PR contacts for both earned and paid media opportunities.
Manage creation and delivery of media assets as needed.
Support agency PR efforts by helping us secure award nominations, podcast appearances, and speaking engagements.
Represent NEWaukee in webinars, podcasts, and earned media opportunities, when appropriate.
Client + Internal Communication
Prepare and present strategy updates to clients — strong public speaking skills and clear communication are key.
Own documentation for projects: maintain visibility through decks, shared documents, and task tracking.
Confidently make recommendations and decisions, always prepared to explain the "why" behind your approach.
Live Events
Support at on-site client activations and events (some nights/weekends required, schedules shared in advance).
Who You Are
A strong writer – you can adapt tone and voice across brands and audiences with ease.
Detail-obsessed and context-smart — you can juggle multiple client nuances without missing a beat.
Comfortable presenting — you can lead a client conversation or represent the company externally with clarity and confidence.
Tech-savvy — you understand AI tools and are already leveraging them as part of your daily workflow. You are familiar with navigating various digital marketing platforms and aren’t afraid of learning new tech.
Organized — you document and track projects, and make it easy for others to follow your work.
Positive and resourceful — you tackle challenges with energy, optimism, and a "how might we" mindset.
Curious — you bring ideas, not just problems, and you’re excited to explore new possibilities.
Growth-minded – you’re open to feedback and continuous improvement.
Confident and decisive — you're comfortable making informed decisions and backing them up with thoughtful reasoning.
What You’ll Need
3+ years of relevant marketing experience preferred.
Hands-on experience managing paid media campaigns.
PR/media relations experience. You know how to build relationships and deliver results.
Experience with marketing automation and customer engagement platforms.
Demonstrable experience with marketing data analytics and tools, such as GA4.
Ability and excitement to work at dynamic live events (occasional nights/weekends).
Must be based in the Milwaukee, WI area. (Hybrid role – office on Thursdays + client meetings/events).
