Erik Hollander, Assistant Professor of Business & Director of Strategic Growth and Business Development @ Concordia University Wisconsin
While Erik is entering his 3rd year as full-time faculty at Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) his unlikely background has stretched over a number of experiences before landing him at CUW. His passion to help others reach their goals awarded him Graduate Business Faculty of the Year in 2014 and recognition for learning and challenge in the classroom the same year. He has worked in a number of fields and industries; most recently, prior to Higher Education, had spent over ten years in healthcare in a variety of roles (including leadership).
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Cardinal Stritch and a MBA from Concordia University Wisconsin in Healthcare Administration. Additionally, he is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and is currently enrolled at the University of Southern California (USC) in their Organizational Change andLeadership (OCL) program as a doctoral student. Fight on! Erik is married and has two boys.
Ryan Byrne, Regional Underwriting Manager – Iowa Region @ West Bend Mutual Insurance
Ryan Byrne joined West Bend in September 2014 as a commercial lines underwriter. He was named regional underwriting manager for the Iowa region in June 2016 and currently oversees a team of commercial lines underwriters from the corporate headquarters in West Bend, WI.
Before joining West Bend, Ryan spend 12 years with Auto-Owners Insurance Company, working in a variety of roles, including claims, underwriting, management, and marketing. Ryan holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. He also holds a number of insurance industry designations, including the AINS, AIC, API, AIS. He was admitted as a Chartered Property CasualtyUnderwriter (CPCU) in 2008.
Amber Miller, Regional Project Director @ WWBIC
Amber Miller leads WWBIC’s Business Education and Financial Capability programming statewide. She manages multiple poverty alleviation programs, including a pilot program with UW Stout and the Wisconsin Department of Health and Human Services to increase asset-building for individuals with disabilities. In 2013, Amber played a key role in a $3.4 million grant to WWBIC to assist families with children with disabilities to achieve self-sufficiency through financial awareness. Amber holds a B.A. in Business and Management from Alverno, a Masters of Business Administration and a Masters of Higher Education Administration.
The SBA named Amber Wisconsin’s 2015 Women in Business Champion for her efforts in helping female small business owner’s start or expand their businesses state-wide. She was the 2016 recipient of the UEDA “Extraordinary Community Partner” for her work on the UEDA Summit, Food Enterprise Development Network and Money Smart Week.
