Karl Gouverneur (pronounced “Governor”) is vice president and chief technology officer for Northwestern Mutual, and head of the company’s enterprise technology management department. In this role, Gouverneur oversees a team that sets the company’s technology direction, leads digital innovation and technology governance, delivers a reliable technology environment and leads company digital transformation efforts.

Gouverneur focuses on providing technology that leads to efficiency and flexibility for business processes to enrich the experience of the company’s clients, financial advisors and employees. In addition to his other responsibilities, Gouverneur leads an award-winning digital innovation program which evaluates digital-based ideas driving 10x value to the company.

Gouverneur is currently a member of the CIO Research Board and the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA). In the Milwaukee community, Gouverneur is an active member of the Discovery World Board. Finally, he is an advisor to the Northwestern Mutual Hispanic Employee Resource Group.

Noah Rickun – Born to sell, other kids were playing in sandboxes while Noah was running his first business…out of his mom’s basement. Today, Noah Rickun is the Vice President of Sales & Distribution at ETE REMAN and a professional speaker, sales guy, writer, and business leader known for his innovative, passionate, and relatable style. He’s a non-practicing attorney, the former CEO of Jeffrey Gitomer’s TrainOne, and master of “the approach” – the single most important part of any sale. As a speaker, Noah delivers inspirational and informational sales seminars packed with implementable strategies, all focused on helping his audience members to go out into the world and “take their shot.” Noah’s column, “Hey Noah,” is featured in NEWaukee’s weekly blog and newsletter.

Zywave
Dave O’Brien is the CEO and President of Zywave, Inc., a Milwaukee-based software company that is partnered with 90 of the top 100 insurance firms in the country. Previous to his position as CEO and President of Zywave, Dave served in multiple Executive-level roles, including CMO and Executive Vice President at Zywave, CEO, CMO and Executive Vice President at Advicent Solutions, and Vice President of Frank F. Haack and Associates.

Dave’s career in sales began in the late 1980s with MetLife as a Large Group Representative working with national brokerage operations on groups with 1,000 or more employees. In 1992, Dave joined Frank F. Haack (FFH) and Associates, Wisconsin’s largest Benefits Brokerage operation. Recognizing the need for technology because of a changing insurance industry, he helped create the industry’s first data analytics tool for independent insurance brokers. In 1995, he spearheaded a new business model for FFH that brought brokers into the fold to help fund the investment in technology, and he traveled the country growing the broker network. Today, with his extensive knowledge of the insurance industry and his years of experience working with brokers, Dave continues to lead Zywave’s continual efforts to fulfill the company’s commitment to drive meaningful sales and retention results for brokers. Dave speaks throughout the country, educating brokers on the opportunities that exist to grow their businesses and thrive among the challenges in today’s ever-changing industry. He and was named as one of the top 100 persons impacting the insurance industry, by Insurance Business America. Dave graduated from the University of Iowa with a major in marketing and a minor in communications.

La Macchia Enterprises
Jennifer La Macchia is the Senior Vice President and Corporate Counsel at La Macchia Enterprises (LME). A Cedarburg native, she began her career at LME at a young age, spending her time memorizing airport codes and packing up and shipping brochures. A University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee alum, she left for Los Angeles after graduation. After graduating from law school at Loyola Law School-Los Angeles, Jennifer began her successful law career as a management-side labor and employment attorney, first in Washington D.C., then back in Los Angeles, CA. In 2010, Jennifer was honored to be tapped to return to her family’s company in Milwaukee and officially rejoined LME. Still a practicing attorney, Jennifer is involved in all aspects of the companies under LME. If you ask her why she came back to LME or what makes her stay, she’ll tell you it’s the people. Jennifer is inspired by the culture of the company and the team members who make it tick. When she is not in the office, she’s spending time with her husband, Nils Parker, and their beagle, Buckley.

Aurora Health Care
Preston Simons joined Aurora Health Care in 2015. As chief information officer, Preston leads Aurora’s effort to use technology and innovative IT tools and services to help deliver a person-focused, best-in-class integrated health care experience. He is responsible for IT opportunity discovery, information strategy, applications development, infrastructure, business operations, cybersecurity, customer support, and IT investment portfolio management. Preston also serves as a member of Aurora’s executive leadership team.

Prior to Aurora, Preston held the position of CIO at Abbott Laboratories, a Fortune 100 medical device and life sciences company. He previously served as the IT leader in several health systems, a health insurance plan and in the pharmaceutical industry. He also had significant responsibilities for operating the IT and infrastructure of AbbVie, which was spun off from Abbott Laboratories in 2013.

Preston has affiliations with many health care IT professional organizations. He is a member of the Managed Care Executive Group, Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, and the Society for Information Management. Additionally, he has had a leading role in the Chicago CIO Institute.

Preston holds a bachelor’s degree in management systems and business administration from the Illinois Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
