1. Milwaukee Brewfest – July 31st
This first annual event is a must if you’re a beer lover! Over 170 craft beers and micro brews from around the world will be featured – you’re sure to go home happy (and maybe a little tipsy) this Saturday. And if sampling isn’t your strength, check out the home brewing demonstrations or exhibits from the Museum of Beer and Brewing. Music, food, bingo, keg races, and a 2010 Miss Brewfest crowning will also take place at the beautiful lakefront location. Get your ticket today!
2. Downtown Employee Appreciation Week – July 26th – 30th
The name says it all – a whole week devoted to those who make it downtown for work every day. With so many activities and sponsors, it’s hard not to find a day to enjoy yourself – including: volleyball & ping pong; the world’s largest coffee break & grandest happy hour; a scavenger hunt & more! Music, food, and prizes will also be featured.
3. “Under Great White Northern Lights” The White Stripes Concert Film – July 30th
A great way to help support our very own 88Nine RadioMilwaukee as they team up with The Times Cinema to present an advanced showing of “Under Great White Northern Lights” – the White Stripes concert film – this Friday night. An added bonus is the preview of the new R.E.M. collection “When The Light Is Mine – The Best Of The I.R.S. Years,” and free copies of DVDs & CDs will be given out – don’t miss it!
4. 2010 IndependenceFirst POWER LUNCH – July 28th
Head to Poto for lunch and a great presentation by Lou Ferrigno, who will share his story of success, personal wellness/fitness philosophies, and challenges as a person who lives with hearing loss. Grab some grub and get in tune with the independent living philosophy: individuals with disabilities have the right to live with dignity and with appropriate support in their own homes, fully participate in their communities, and to control and make decisions about their lives.
5. Milwaukee Comedy Festival – July 29th – Aug. 1st
A four-day event devoted to making you laugh your arse off! Round up some friends and check out some of the best acts from across the country (and our very own city of Milwaukee), in stand-up, sketch, and improv comedy this weekend at the Off-Broadway Theatre.
