Join Newaukee, the Urban Ecology Center and 88.9 RadioMilwaukee at The New Ecology of Sound on Friday, July 23, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Newaukee, a networking organization for young professionals, is hosting this event as a fundraiser for 88.9 RadioMilwaukee, a local, independent radio station, as well as for the Urban Ecology Center, a nonprofit, environmental education center. The New Ecology of Sound will be held at the Urban Ecology Center, located at 1500 East Park Place in Milwaukee. Event tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at www.newaukee.com, as well as at the door. All admission proceeds go to 88.9 RadioMilwaukee, which relies on the community for funding and its continued success.

The New Ecology of Sound will feature live music from Milwaukee-area artists Ethan Keller, Frankie Flowers, Kyle Feerick and the DJs of 88.9 RadioMilwaukee. Attendees can scale the Urban Ecology Center’s rock climbing wall, explore the state-of-the-art green facility, stroll through the urban gardens or browse the canoes, bicycles and kayaks available to borrow through the center. Urban Ecology Center staff will also be available for tours of the grounds. The New Ecology of Sound will also have beer tasting tickets available for purchase, courtesy of the Milwaukee Brewing Company, in addition to having a cash bar. Profits from the beer tasting and the cash bar will benefit the Urban Ecology Center, which also depends on donations from the community to continue its mission.

Newaukee is thrilled to host this fundraiser for 88.9 RadioMilwaukee and the Urban Ecology Center. Both 88.9 RadioMilwaukee and the Urban Ecology Center are custom-built for the Milwaukee-community and thrive on events such as this to increase awareness about their products and services, as well as receive funding to grow their programs. To purchase tickets go to our home page and click on the “Buy Tickets” button or buy your tickets at the door. Hope to see you there!
